Magic Village Resort, Kissimmee

20 - Pool - daytime

Magic Village Resort in Kissimmee is like the ultimate villa holiday –all the convenience of a resort, with the privacy of your own front door and sumptuous home. With the big theme parks just minutes away, the resort is my idea of heaven – near enough to everything to be super convenient, secluded enough from everything to be relaxing. Magic Village Resort was the perfect base for our family adventures with Visit Florida. MAGIC1When we arrived to the gated complex (I loved how secure it felt), we were tired from the flight and general travel, and although check-in at The Clubhouse took about 20 minutes, it was pretty straightforward and we LOVED our villa from the minute we stepped through the door!villaThe level of luxury in the houses was another class, with even the kids commenting on the “bouncy carpets” which they kept testing, up and down the stairs. If I could transport our villa back home to live in, I would – it was THAT well set up for a family!  Open plan, light, airy and super spacious, the downstairs boasted a dining area, open plan kitchen with island and chill out sofa area, as well as a sumptuous outdoor dining area and barbecue, not to mention one of the four bedrooms. VILLAINSIDEThe bedrooms themselves all had enough storage and wardrobe action to keep the place looking tidy the whole time, with most bedrooms having a walk in wardrobe.  The addition of an ensuite bathroom with every room made for a completely luxurious family affair and we even managed to fully unpack and put our suitcases away, which made it feel even more like home.  My bedroom even had a verandah outside with views over the lake and the noise of the lit fountain was extra relaxing at night.

In addition to providing the perfect base for exploring, Magic Village gave moments of total relaxation poolside – the perfect oasis in the midst of an exciting schedule.MORNING1The pool itself  feels like the hub of everything – located in the centre of the resort it was pretty perfect! With a hot tub and a sloped shallow end, even the smallest of children could enjoy paddling under their parents’ watchful eye. It was the best place to cool off and, with most residents out exploring during the daytime, we had the aqua blue water pretty much to ourselves whenever we dipped into it.

The luxurious round cabana beds and loungers were also a big hit, as was the daily overhead display by a stunt plane spelling out inspirational words!poolThe whole place was brilliantly set up for families with it’s 180 villas, free transportation to Disney Parks, Kids Activity Room, Fitness Room (which I had every intention of using – it’s always good to take your lycra for a transatlantic journey, right?!) and on site restaurant – Villaggio.FITNESS:RESTAURANTLocated with access from the pool area, the restaurant was perfect for lunchtime pizzas or even ordering snacks and drinks poolside. Inspired by Mediterranean, French and Italian cuisine, it was super handy having a restaurant so close. There’s even an app – Uber Eats – which allows you to order food from your villa!
RESTAURANTAll of the bedrooms at Magic Village boast Cable TV – the perfect antidote to early morning jetlag. Given that we were waking at 4 am for the first few days, I felt eternally grateful to The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans Go! and Clarence for keeping Kaya and Akira entertained.

Complimentary Wi-Fi was also a huge bonus and it was superfast – handy for social media updates and the catching-up-with-work us parents often have to do.

Every villa has its own parking right in front which was super convenient. This is the proximity of our Hertz hire car in front of our lovely home – and yes – I DO now want a new car!

It was really pretty awesome to have the freedom of villa life with the assurance of 24 hour concierge staff in The Clubhouse. Described as “a home – with the benefits of a hotel” I couldn’t agree more!

And now for the sexiest holiday picture you’ve ever seen!  Forget Channing Tatum (sorry C!) but THIS totally rocked my world!  At risk of showing just HOW much I do need to get out more… check out THESE bad boys!  LAUNDRY ROOM BABY!  IN THE VILLA!LAUNDRYI joke, of course BUT the laundry room and awesome outsized american washer and drier meant, I even managed to return home laundry-free so the Magic Village joy lived on, even after we’d returned!

Evenings were fun at the resort, with the poolside serving as the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a drink whilst taking in the stunning fireworks from the various theme parks, all from the luxury of a comfy cabana!

Would I recommend Magic Village it to a friend? In a heartbeat! It’s like a hidden gem and, for me, the most relaxing way to enjoy a holiday.

In fact, we still have a villa keycard displayed on our fridge – a testament to how much we loved the place and how we totally plan to, one day, return!

LOVE this pic of the kids taking off on the flight home!  The sign of 2 kids who’ve spent time in Florida?

We were in Florida as guests of VISIT FLORIDA and EXPERIENCE KISSIMMEE.  All views are my own. To find out more about what the state could offer YOU – head to LOVE FLORIDA.

Our car for the trip was courtesy of HERTZ and I did find the Hertz service impeccable.
