I’m a footwear obsessive! As a little girl, I was at my happiest when “clonking” (technical term) along my grandparents garden path, rocking my grandmas heels which I teamed with their furry hearth rug from the front room draped around my shoulders, regal stylee! Luckily for me, my beloved grandma was a stiletto fan so it was an impressive noise and, despite the fact that my dad appropriately referred to them as “ankle breakers”, they thankfully never lived up to their name!
At school I always had to get the sensible option. There would always be “the cool” pair of shoes for the start of every autumn term and all the cool girls at school would have them, while I was shuffling along in the latest lace-up option.
Hence – as soon as I had the money to treat myself – an obsession was born!
My beautiful buddy Hayley Southwood of Southwood Stores also writes the stunning Breathe Happiness blog with photographer Shaneen of Rosewarne Cox Photography. These two are the most beautiful women – inside and out. The kind who make you smile and leave even happier than you arrived! So 30 minutes of fun with two gorgeous girls AND a Unicorn? I was in!LOVE LOVE LOVE Ash Footwear! If there was one shop on the planet where I could happily own their entire stock and live the dream, it would be Ash. If I won the £10k we’re currently offering every day on Heart Breakfast, I’d TOTALLY buy the range. Every season!
Founded in 2000, Ash is the brainchild of French born Patrick Ithier and Italian entrepreneur Lionello Calvani and produces designs for men and women that are a bit edgy – and just a little bit gorgeous!
I saw these Stud Bikers in their Covent Garden store and nearly licked them, such was my love! Instead, I checked myself (!) and decided to try them on instead, putting them to an Instagram vote? An all around thumbs up came back – what was a girl to do?
The thing I love most about them is how they’re gonna get even better with age!
I also spotted these Shilo Low Wedge beauties in there. My crew at work call them my Pochahontus boots – what’s not to love?! Ash very cleverly excels in concealed heels so, whilst these look like flats, they add about 5 cm to your height and, crucially, legs! Imagine my joy when they recently hit the sale and went half price?! Studs, tassels, heel AND bargain price = #WIN!
With 3.45 starts my norm for Heart Breakfast, comfort is key in my world.
I was visiting my local Cara London store in Henley-on-Thames and spied these suede Pioneer beauties which elongate your tanned summer legs and are BEYOND comfy! They come in 4 gorgeous colours, including a stunning grey, which will be perfect for Autumn with bare legs or jeans. Already a staple in my wardrobe.
This pair from Airstep are just about the most comfy sandals I have ever owned! I wore them for their maiden voyage on our recent flight to Italy which could have been the worst decision I ever made, but they were perfect! I thought they should join me on our Italian adventure, given that the company is based in Verona and famed for it’s Italian design, rugged vintage looks and detailing.I love that the Airstep soles are slightly thicker than average, which gives your SOLE a bit more cushioning, keeping your SOUL happy! Given that Italy is so renowned for it’s gorgeous leather footwear, I took it as a good sign that I caught the stylish “Fiorentini” women throwing some envious glances my way!
“The brand is loved by people who expect more than just another piece of clothing: they demand a style that reflects their soul: Wild and beautiful”.
They come in a black option and white and gold – perfect with a skirt or skinnies!
