The Girl from Hipanema!

DSC04289

Every year I search out a piece of phenomenal arm candy I know is going to put a summer smile on my face every time I wear it.  Festivals, holidays – even the school run – it’s that bit of “bling” that puts happiness in my heart every morning as I put it on. Or something like that!

This year – it’s my Hipanema Bracelet and since festival season has officially kicked of with Glastonbury, I figured now is a good time to share the love!  These are bracelets that, not only indulge your inner hippy, but lift your spirits  even if the weather isn’t playing the summer game.

I first discovered the brand during a meeting when all I was hearing was “bla, bla, bla” since my eyes were drawn to the STUNNING collection of bracelets my companion was rocking.  Within minutes I’d convinced a woman I barely knew to take off said hippy adornment so that I could have a try!  Yes my friend – that’s how I roll!

HIPANEMAI was pretty psyched to discover the vibrant bands were cleverly just all attached to one clasp, because, let’s face it,  attaching numerous friendship bands every morning isn’t something THIS busy mamma has time for, however stunning!

If I’m honest this woman was oozing cool, so perhaps I was kinda hopeful that a bit of her zchuzh would rub off on me if I joined the Hipanema gang? You know – like the cool girl in school where suddenly everyone rocks up to registration with the same bag SHE has?!  Yup. SHE was the adult incarnation of that girl.

Has the bracelet catapulted me to “cool girl” status?  Not exactly!  But I DO get asked about it  the whole time – it’s so eye-catching and unique looking.  It came with us to Kefalonia, was perfect on our yurt trip and it’s a regular fixture on my arm for the school run.

The brand is D-I-V-I-N-E!

They have loads of variations to choose from, so chances of you finding a “bracelet buddy” are slim!  Plus they also do  bikinis and clothes.  I know.  I can almost not bear it either!  The website has become my kryptonite in all its boho glory.

Just one click can’t hurt… surely?!

*whispers “go on… you know you want to!”

Oh, that’s just too beautiful! Perfect summer accessory and I’m loving that it’s just the one clasp. I also know a 7 year old who would love this…. *heads over to website whilst hiding from 7 year old*

Oooooh – very very nice. A million miles away from the bits of embroidery thread that I had round my wrist as a teenager, desperately trying to look cool like everyone in the year above me at school!

I’m off to stalk their website in a desperate attempt to look cooler than all the other mums at school 😉

Hi Katy … just love the styles. Is it one size, with 2 different lengths? – or can you buy a wider style?

Thanks for the link … love reading your blog.

    Sarah.

Seeing your bracelet has transported me back to when I made friendships bracelets as an early teen. I love you can get the look of wearing a collection of bracelets but with just one clasp.

Ah – I LOVED friendship bracelets. Maybe that’s why I love this?! x

Thanks Donna! I am honestly a bit in love with it! x

I am most impressed that it is just one clasp – how fricking awesome is that! I do have a festival to go to with my husband next weekend so ought to have a look 🙂

You must! Rude not to! 😉 x

Love it! And the idea of having them all on one clasp is epic. I wonder if I can get a clasp for mine – I love them but you’re right it’s a pain putting on dozens of bands every morning. Their website is beautiful, wonder if I can sell husband to buy jewellery, is that allowed?

    • Reply Katy June 28, 2014 at 8:28 pm

Haha! Whatever it takes lady! 😉 x

Arrrrgh I love it so much! I am easily sold on really cool accessories, so am off for a quick gander before having consulting my bank manager 😉
Hope you had a lovely time in Kefalonia, always wanted to go but hopefully will be visiting Santorini first 🙂 Keep smiling xx

Thanks lovely! And for what they are, I think they’re fab value. Start at £39 – but I’m literally wearing mine DAILY! x

I know one little girl at home that would love wearing one!

    • Reply Katy June 28, 2014 at 1:06 pm

Ha! I actually stack mine with loom bands my daughter has made me! x

Flippin heck that’s gorgeous! I’ve been going through a bit of a bohemian phase myself recently. Lots of kimono shrugs and linen. THIS however epitomises my desired style. I think I’m already seduced.

Do it lady! Click and go! Perfect! xx (that’s putting it on btw – not ordering – but that too!) xx

I’ve just been browsing on their website and LOVE this brand – it’s so happy!
I’m a bit of a bracelet junkie, I have a whole drawer dedicated to them and the more colourful the better. Thinking a new addition might be the perfect accessory for our Greek holiday this summer…

    • Reply Katy June 28, 2014 at 1:04 pm

      BEYOND perfect for Greece! xx

  • Reply Sarah June 28, 2014 at 10:39 am

Katy that fits my image of ‘you’ so perfectly. I have a picture of you in my mind (don’t know if it’s from real life or if I made it up!) in tan boots and a ruffly skirt, denim jacket, and now that bracelet. I might have to have one to take yurting with me next week too!

    • Reply Katy June 28, 2014 at 12:59 pm

Ooh – PERFECT for the yurts! Rude not to! *head off to buy a ruffled skirt! xx
