Little Birdie House – Ragdolls
Akira LOVES Ragdolls. And I mean L-O-V-E-S the things. And really, what’s not to love? They’re perfect to play with AND soft enough for snuggles, so I was THRILLED when I found www.LittleBirdieHouse.co.uk who sell GORGEOUS bits for kids and lots that you’ll love for Christmas. Set up by Interior and Graphic Designers Charlotte and her hubbie Jon, you NEED to visit this site! I ordered the Knight and Guard Ragdolls for Akira, got them personalised and they arrived super fast!
The guard hasn’t left Akira’s side since it arrived and was the perfect companion for our recent trip to London (read here). We even had them as a centrepiece for Akira’s “Guard Birthday Party”. Little Birdie House is a gorgeous site for the special people in your life and itt’s fab for gifts too since there are so many options to personalise. Warning though – this site is so delicious it should come with a Pringles-type warning – once you pop, you can’t stop!
BabyMel Kids Range
As a parent it’s so hard to find items that are functional AND gorgeous. Step forward London-made Babymel at www.babymel.co.uk, with their relatively new Kids range. Set up by the uber talented Melanie Marshall and Suzi Bergman (the ladies behind Storksak) the brand was always going to do well and the women’s changing bags have been FLYING since their introduction in 2007.
In the kids range the gorgeous rucksacks have padded shoulder straps, bottle pocket, pen pockets and wipe clean linings. My FAVOURITE part is the removable insulated lunch bag, making them perfect for Nursery or Foundation and Year 1 children. All the materials are Phthalate free and there are 4 different designs, making them perfect for school, socialising or sport since outside pockets are perfect for shampoo, goggles etc. Every time we’re out with them I get asked where they’re from? ALWAYS a great sign!
My Car Step
Invented by Sally Marlow and manufactured in the UK (tick!), My Car Step is a step that sits under your child’s car seat so they can climb into their seat by themselves! What? “No more bangs on the head and feeling guilty” I hear you cry? NOPE! “No more straining my back as I adopt the most awkward angle known to man”?! AGAIN, NO! This is truly a win, win invention. Your kid feels more grown up and doesn’t have to kick-off because they want to do it “by themselves” but can’t, and you can hopefully get the car moving sooner!
The step slides between your child’s seat and your car seat, and can be used from about 9 months to 4 years, hopefully making trips away from home that bit easier. Lets face it, life as a parent is challenging enough, so one challenge down.
Now if Sally could just invent something to get my kids shoes on fast before the school run, life would be perfect!
